Oldest Furnace Contest Entry Rules

  • The contest is for owner occupied, single family homes with central ducted systems.

  • Entrants must be legal adults and legal residents of Georgia.

  • Entrants must be homeowners and fully empowered to make purchase and home improvement decisions regarding their residences.

  • Homes must be located within the Empire Heating and Air Conditioning service area, defined as: DeKalb, Fulton, South Forsyth and South Gwinnett Counties.

  • Entries must be received between October 1, 2009 and March 10, 2010.

  • Entries may be mailed or delivered to Empire Heating & Air Conditioning, 783 DeKalb Industrial Way, Decatur GA 30033; emailed to info@empirehvac.com; faxed to 404-294-4810; or submitted using the contact us form at www.empirehvac.com with “contest” as a promo code.

  • The furnace must be operating and heating the home. The duct system must be in good condition and properly sized. The duct system, evaporator, and drain pan must be free of mold.

  • Representatives from Empire Heating and Air Conditioning must be allowed access to the furnace to examine the installation and record manufacturer nameplate information.

  • The winner will be the oldest furnace submitted according to objective information (e.g., the manufacturer’s nameplate or date code), installation or sale paperwork provided by the homeowner, or the best judgment of Empire Heating and Air Conditioning employees.

  • All decisions are final.

  • The winner will be selected by March 10, 2010 and informed prior to media announcements.

  • The winner will be posted online at www.empirehvac.com by March 12, 2010.

  • The winner will receive: one EverRest by Amana 95% afue multiposition natural gas furnace with standard installation that includes retrofit to acceptable existing ductwork, electrical, flue piping and gas line.

  • The winner will be responsible for: taxes, duct system modifications (if necessary), any hazardous material removal and abatement (e.g., asbestos, mold, etc.), and any improvements needed to bring the installation in compliance with existing building and mechanical codes (any applicable costs will be discussed beforehand).

  • The winner will agree to allow Empire Heating and Air Conditioning to use images and likenesses of the old and new furnace, homeowners and the homeowners’ name in promotional material.

  • The winner will provide Empire Heating and Air Conditioning with 12 months of gas bill information prior to the replacement, 12 months of gas bill information following the installation, and release Empire Heating and Air Conditioning to share this information with the public.

  • Entrants agree to hold Empire Heating and Air Conditioning, its owners, officers, agents, and employees harmless for any injuries, loss, or damages related to the contest.

  • Prize is non-transferable and may not be redeemed for cash.

  • No entry fee or purchase is required.

  • Employees of Empire Heating and Air Conditioning and their family members are not eligible.
