Rebates, Tax Credits and Great Opportunities!

This year is full of opportunity! The new stimulus program provides for energy tax credits of up to $1,500 on new high efficiency equipment. Equipment manufacturers are really expanding their rebates, discounts and special financing packages. Even the utilities are cranking up some rebate programs like they had back in the "good ol' days." Georgia Power is offering you a $400 incentive for new heat pumps and dual fuel systems plus Atlanta Gas light has $600 for high efficiency furnaces with air conditioning. Of course certain conditions do apply.

The bottom line is there has not been a better time to invest in a comfort system since the early nineties.

Considering a major upgrade to your system? Contact our comfort specialist Chris Adolph and he can give you all the information on what's available right now. If you are short on time, download our Quality Home Comfort Survey and fax it in so that we have a head start on gathering information for your specific needs and presenting it to you promptly.

If you have a system that's in good order make sure you are getting the most out of your utility dollars. We test systems every day that are conditioning the air but only delivering about 50 percent of the heating and cooling you have been paying for. And it's usually simple things that make the biggest difference in efficiency. Dirt is number one – dirty coils, blowers and filters rob your system of capacity. Leaky duct work, blower doors that don't fit well and that little door at the filter that may not fit quite right can make your utility bills twice what they should be.

So why put up with that? Have your system tuned up and performance-tested by one of our NATE certified technicians. It only takes about 45 minutes and cost $89. Another great way to save is to keep your system in top form with a planned maintenance agreement. It is significantly cheaper than having your systems serviced piecemeal, guarantees emergency service and makes sure you get the best prices we offer on everything.

Empire's Oldest Furnace Contest 2008-2009: We Have a Winner!

Empire Heating & Air announced the winner of the Oldest Furnace Contest, a vintage 1939 gravity furnace, original to its Decatur house, that used enough energy to heat two homes! Empire replaced the furnace, for free, with a brand new American Standard 95% efficient variable speed furnace – neat, clean, safer, much more efficient and about half as large as the antique it replaced.
