This year we are proud to work with SAFFT in renovating the old Hansard House at 608 Veterans Memorial Blvd. in Cumming. This facility is to be used as a safe meeting and counseling facility for foster and adoptive families. We would like to thank Brad Childress with Mechanical Equipment Company in Cumming and Gary Roberts with Associated Equipment Company in Smyrna for their donations of equipment and supplies that have helped us provide a complete HVAC system. The SAFFT organization celebrated their grand opening on Saturday June19th.
You can learn more about the project and SAFFT at www.safft.org.

The Strike Out Leukemia and Lymphoma Radiothon with 680 The Fan was a great success and raised over $100,000 for the cause. I really enjoyed being at the event hearing so many stories form survivors. Shawn Hammond is one of those survivors and the event chairman for the Radiothon. Tim Callow was the photographer for this event and was kind enough to provide this picture of Shawn and I.
This event will be a regular for Empire in the future. If you would like to volunteer your time or would like to provide financial support contact Lauraine Frank by emailing lauraine.frank@lls.org or call her directly at 404-720-7826.![]()

This Thursday I’ll be at the Strike Out Leukemia and Lymphoma Radiothon that is hosted by WCNN-AM 680 “The Fan” with John Kincade.
The event will be held at the PGA Superstore in Duluth starting and 6:00am and running till 7:00pm. Funds raised will help with research and help provide financial assistance to patients. I hope that you will join us in supporting this great cause by helping to spread the word and offering what financial support you can. The website is www.lls.org/ga/radiothon and it will only take a minute to make your donation.
Thanks for joining us in support of this worthy cause.

Great ideas go a long way! Forty years ago when Earth Day was first observed it was a pretty small affair. It’s now global. Today is a great time to think about all you do to keep our place a little cleaner and more efficient and remember that every little bit helps.

For the third consecutive year, Empire has achieved the Angie’s List Super Service Award. This exclusive recognition is reserved for companies who consistently maintain a “superior service rating.” According to Angie’s List, fewer than five percent of their registered companies can meet the stringent eligibility requirements for this prestigious award.
